Circle Area
This topic covers the concept of finding the area of a circle.
This topic aligns to the following state standards
Grade 8: 2. Use rational and irrational numbers to solve real-world and mathematical problems.
Grade 6: 3. Find the area and circumference of a circle given the radius or diameter using common approximations of pi where appropriate.
Grade 7: 1. Calculate the radius, diameter, circumference and area of a circle given any one of these.
Grade 9: 3. Know and use properties of two- and three-dimensional figures to solve real-world and mathematical problems such as: finding area, perimeter, volume and surface area; applying direct or indirect methods of measurement; the Pythagorean theorem and its converse; and properties of 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 triangles.
