Fractions to Decimals
Convert fractions to decimals using denominators that divide evenly into 100. You may need pencil and paper.
This topic aligns to the following state standards
Grade 3: NS 3.4 Know and understand that fractions and decimals are two different representations of the same concept (e.g., 50 cents is 1/2 of a dollar, 75 cents is 3/4 of a dollar).
Grade 4: NS 1.6 Write tenths and hundredths in decimal and fraction notations and know the fraction and decimal equivalents for halves and fourths (e.g., 1/2 = 0.5 or .50; 7/4 = 1 3/4 = 1.75).
Grade 4: NS 1.9 Identify on a number line the relative position of positive fractions, positive mixed numbers, and positive decimals to two decimal places.
Grade 7: NS 1.5 Know that every rational number is either a terminating or repeating decimal and be able to convert terminating decimals into reduced fractions.
