Here are some tips for Money Division, which aligns with Nevada state standards:

Money Division

You will need long division, or how to divide a larger number by a single digit number.
To review the topic Long Division By One Digit, see here.

In Money Division, you are dividing a decimal number by a single digit number. Like Money Multiplication, this takes two steps:

  1. Ignore the decimal point and divide
  2. Place the decimal point in your answer so that the decimal point lines up with the decimal point in the dividend (or the decimal number being divided)
Since you are dividing money, remember to add the $ sign to your answer.
