Decimal Place Value
To review the Place Value topic, see here.
Note: All decimal place values end in "th" |
Example 1: Identifying values
Type the value of the red digit. Example: 23.0442 = .04
1. 10.502
For 10.502, 0 is in the hundredths place.
In the expanded form, 10.502 = 10 + 0 + 0.5 + 0.00 + 0.002
So the value is 0.00.2. 0.1927
For 0.1927, 7 is in the ten thousandths place.
In the expanded form, 0.1927 = 0.1 + 0.09 + 0.002 + 0.0007
So the value is 0.0007.
